Only Sky is The Limit

My Grandmother was always encouraging me to set goals and work hard to achieve them. She would tell me not to be a follower and not to set limits on what I could achieve. She truly believed that there were no limits that you could achieve whatever you wanted.

A farmer won a first prize at the country fair for his huge radish that was the exact shape and size of a quart of milk bottle.

Many were curious as to how the farmer was able to grow this radish that was the exact shape of a milk bottle.

Finally one gentleman went up to the farmer and asked the question. The farmer replied, "It was easy. I got the seed growing and then I put it into the milk bottle. It had nowhere else to go."

You can use this story as an analogy to life - our lives are shaped by the kind of surroundings we place ourselves in, the people that we allow to influence us, and the goals we give ourselves.

If we only dream and take no action then we get no further. But if we plan, set a goal and take action then our life takes a different shape.

Don't limit yourself; don't put yourself in a bottle. Or in other words move out of what is comfortable and secure if you want to move forward.

Before success comes in any man’s life he is sure to meet with much temporary defeat

Before success comes in any man’s life he is sure to meet with much temporary defeat and, perhaps, some failures. When defeat overtakes a man, the easiest and most logical thing to do is to quit. That is exactly what the majority of men do. – Napoleon Hill

Being challenged in life is inevitable, being defeated is optional. – Roger Crawford

But man is not made for defeat. A man can be destroyed but not defeated. – Ernest Hemingway

Character consists of what you do on the third and fourth tries. – James A. Michener

Defeat is not the worst of failures. Not to have tried is the true failure. – George E. Woodberry

Do not fear mistakes. You will know failure. Continue to reach out. – Robert Galvin

Do not let what you cannot do interfere with what you can do. – John Wooden

Don’t be afraid to fail. Don’t waste energy trying to cover up failure. Learn from your failures and go on to the next challenge. It’s OK to fail. If you’re not failing, you’re not growing. – H. Stanley Judd

How to Find Happiness???

“We search for happiness everywhere, but we are like Tolstoy’s fabled beggar who spent his life sitting on a pot of gold, under him the whole time. Your treasure–your perfection–is within you already. But to claim it, you must leave the buy commotion of the mind and abandon the desires of the ego and enter into the silence of the heart.”

Life is Short

Are you looking for me?

Are you looking for me?

Are you looking for me?
I am in the next seat.
My shoulder is against yours.

You will not find me in the stupas,
not in Indian shrine rooms, nor synagogues,
nor in cathedrals:

not in masses, nor kirtans,
not in legs winding around your own neck,
nor in eating nothing but vegetables,

When you really look for me, you will see me instantly -
you will find me in the tiniest house of time.

Lovely Thoughts for Lovely People Just Like You

Neither Be Not Not Be . Instead Be Without Being

Many days, I spent in wonder:
Who am I? Where do I come from?
Where am I going?
This writing is the result of my meditation.
It is by no means truth.
The truth, can only be realized within.
These words interpret
What I have found within my own heart.

We are body.
We are mind.
We are heart.
We are spirit.
We are light.
The body is what does.
The mind is what thinks.
The heart is what feels.
The spirit is what lives.
The light is what is.

The body is sustained by food, water, and air.
The mind is sustained by truth.
The heart is sustained by joy.
The spirit is sustained by purpose.
The light is sustained by its source.

The light is what was before being
and remains after being.
Yet being is not separate from what is,
for it is light taken shape and form
and coming into being.
Everything is light and born of light.
Even the shadows do not exist without light.

Examine the ten thousand things,
beyond form,
and find its only being
is the shape of its light.

The difference between the living
and the non-living
is that the sentient tend to the light.
The rest are like lamps without oil,
cold and still.

The world of being
is a world of suffering,
a world sustained by shadows.
It is created by our mistaking
this body, this mind, this heart and this spirit
for what is.
In forgetting our light
we forget what sustains us,
draw away from the source,
and we begin to grow dim.
We hunger
and desire is born.
We consume the light
of what surrounds us.
Our fulfillment is always short lived.
A desire fulfilled is replaced with another.
Fire must always be fed to be.
Suffering is born.

In the world of non-being
the flame is no longer fed.
It is losing self,
it is being no longer,
it is the flame put out.

Neither be
nor not be.
Instead,
be without being.

Like the bright star
in our corner of the universe,
that does not let go
of what she protects,
the source of our light
keeps us near.

Close your eyes
and see the shapeless form
that embraces us
within and without.
Close your ears
and hear the whisper
of the music that calls us home.

Find your original face.
Find the Way back home.

Help Me God....Dear God

Dear God:
“So far today, I’ve done alright.
I haven’t lost my temper, haven’t been grumpy, nasty, selfish or overindulgent.
I’m glad of that, but in a few minutes, God,
I’m going to get out of this bed and from there on,
I’m going to need a lot more help.
Thanking You in advance.
